Interfaith Round Table in Parliament
6th November 2025Bishop Martyn recently attended a high-level interfaith discussion in the House of Lords. Representatives of different faith communities were present, including the new Minister of State for Faith and Communities, Miatta Fahnbulleh, and the new interfaith adviser to the Prime Minister, Dilwar Hussain.

27th October 2025Kimberley Tyler was commissioned as a Locally Authorised Minister at St Denys Church in Evington. Kimberley is currently exploring a call to ordained ministry, and admits it has taken her some time to finally realise that God calls all kinds of people.
In Lament of Homelessness
27th October 2025A service in lament of homelessness was held at Leicester Cathedral. With Homelessness Sunday and World Homelessness Day taking place on 5 and 10 October respectively, the annual service was held on 17 October this year.

16th October 2025In a display of unity and civic pride, many people came together for the High Sheriff of Leicestershire’s Justice Service at Leicester Cathedral recently.
Collation and Installation - Welcoming the New Archdeacon of Leicester
9th October 2025The collation and installation of the new Archdeacon of Leicester was held on Thursday (2 October) during evensong at Leicester Cathedral. Family, friends, colleagues and church communities came together in celebration and support for the new ministry of the Reverend Richard Trethewey during a service of welcome and commissioning.

The Joys and Challenges of Intercultural Churches
25th September 2025Bishop Martyn was recently invited to speak at a conference on “intercultural churches” in Bonn, Germany. The conference included people from the Diocese in Europe (part of the Church of England) and the Episcopal Church in Europe (part of the USA Episcopal Church).
A Fond Farewell to Archdeacon Richard Worsfold
19th September 2025A special service to say farewell to the Venerable Richard Worsfold, Archdeacon of Leicester, was held during choral evensong at Leicester Cathedral on Monday 15 September. The congregation was filled with well-wishers, signifying the close friendships, connections and ministries that Richard and his wife Jenny have developed over the last 30 years in the diocese.
