Bishop Martyn recently visited The Bridge Homelessness to Hope on Melton Street in Leicester to meet the staff and guests of the charity.
Around 100 people gathered in Leicester Cathedral on 2 October for a service in lament of homelessness. The worship was a time to reflect on the realities of homelessness and to consider how best to work together to serve those affected.
Over the last four decades, the shop’s hard-working volunteers from the church and village community in Countesthorpe have helped raise a staggering £275,000 for Christian Aid
Christians from the Diocese of Leicester were recently involved in an act of solidarity to offer support and loving service to asylum seekers living in their local community.
We are delighted to announce that Adam Clarke has joined the diocese as Net Zero Carbon Programme Manager and will be operating across the dioceses of Leicester and Peterborough.
The historic church was recently rededicated by Bishop Saju during a service of thanksgiving, marking the completion of a significant reordering project. The ambitious plan, aptly named ‘The Village Heart at St John’s’ has transformed the church into a welcoming and versatile space for the entire community.
The Church of the Martyrs in Leicester have found a great way to casually, and rather comfortably, connect with its neighbours this summer through ‘Sofa Chat’.
The Diocese of Leicester has been selected to join a pilot scheme offering parishes training and support from Renew Wellbeing to launch simple, welcoming, café-style spaces.
We are holding an Eco Church Conversations Day on Saturday, September 14 from 10am – 2pm, at Holy Trinity Church in Leicester. It’s open to anyone, of any age, and all denominations are welcome to come and join in the fun.
