Seven women were commissioned by Bishop Martyn at a service at Leicester Cathedral on Sunday 28 January to serve as the Diocese’s Women’s Ministry Group.
At a service of choral evensong on Sunday 28 January, three new honorary canons were installed at Leicester Cathedral, alongside the Rt Revd Saju Muthalaly, who was installed as Bishop of Loughborough.
The Bishop of Leicester yesterday announced that Revd Canon Karen Rooms will be the next Dean of Leicester – becoming the third person to hold the post.

The Revd Canon Karen Rooms was licensed as Acting Dean of Leicester during Leicester Cathedral’s Epiphany Eucharist on Sunday, January 8.
Sunday evening saw the diocese pay a fond farewell to David Monteith at St Mary de Castro church in Leicester. After 13 years in the diocese, David is moving on to take up his new appointment as Dean of Canterbury.
Bishop Saju travelled the diocese on Sunday as he received, baptised, and confirmed candidates from a number of churches and the cathedral.
All around the diocese, churches, clergy and ministers have been leading services and involved in civic and community events to mark Remembrance Sunday
