A Eucharist to mark the 30th Anniversary of the Ordination of Women as Priests in the Church of England took place in Leicester Cathedral on the afternoon of Sunday 8 September.
The historic church was recently rededicated by Bishop Saju during a service of thanksgiving, marking the completion of a significant reordering project. The ambitious plan, aptly named ‘The Village Heart at St John’s’ has transformed the church into a welcoming and versatile space for the entire community.

On Saturday 7 September, around 100 people came together at Launde Abbey in the diocese for an outdoor worship gathering, organised by the OWL Network (Outdoor Worship Leicestershire) and Peterborough Outdoor Worship.
A meeting of the new Diocesan Synod took place on Tuesday 3 September in the Grand Hall at St Martins House.
A service of evening prayer to mark the closure of the Christians Resources Bookshop and give thanks for its contribution to God’s ministry in the diocese, was held on Tuesday (3 September) in Leicester Cathedral.
Many people recognise the benefits of taking time in silence and prayer but find it hard to develop a habit of stillness in the busyness of life. One small group in Groby have been meeting to support one another in the practice of silence and contemplative prayer.
Over the summer, churches across the diocese have been getting away together, holding fairs, hosting BBQs, and serving their local communities in a huge number of ways.
After much hard work, planning, preparation and prayer, St Mary’s Church in Lutterworth has recently opened the Churchgate Community Centre - a newly renovated space in the town, dedicated to the community.
