Everyone is warmly invited to attend the services of ordination taking place in Leicester Cathedral this Petertide.
Vocations Sunday, which is on Sunday 11 May this year, is an ideal opportunity to nurture vocations amongst your worshipping community.
Are you feeling a sense of calling to ordained ministry? Do you recognise the call in someone else? Right now, Bishop Saju is preparing a retreat for our new ordinands who will be ordained into the church this summer, and he wondered, who else might God be calling to diaconate and priesthood, to serve and lead in His church in the future?
A Lay Ministry gathering at St Martins House earlier this month brought together more than 60 people who serve our churches, communities, and institutions across the Diocese of Leicester.
Sunday 9 February is Racial Justice Sunday. Entering its 30th year of celebration, this is a unique day in which we, as the body of Christ, highlight the continued need to oppose racism and pursue racial justice.
There was much joy, hope and thanks given to God for the gift of lay ministry in the parish of Broughton Astley, Croft with Stoney Stanton recently, as Heather Beadle and Malcolm Burland were commissioned as Locally Authorised Ministers.
This year, Leicester was one of several dioceses to partner with the Church of England 30k Project to pilot new training programmes for children and youth leaders. We are now recruiting for participants to join a second cohort in Autumn 2024.
A few days before their ordination, Rachael, Heather, Nicholas, Stuart and Cameron shared with us what it means for them to be stepping into the next chapter of their ministry.
We are delighted to report that the 2024 Petertide Ordinations in the Diocese of Leicester took place over the weekend in two joyful services at Leicester Cathedral.
