At the Parish Church of St. Mary in Charnwood, food, nature and play have become fundamental pillars for relationship-building.
We are delighted to have 12 participants enrolled on the Church of England Ministry Experience Scheme this academic year. They will be serving a range of churches across the Diocese of Leicester and engaging with a breadth of ministry including children and youth work, social action, community engagement, schools, worship and creative media.
A new term means a new listening exercise, and this Autumn sees the launch of the latest Bishop's Children and Youth Council listening exercise on the theme of ‘Do You Hear Me?’
On Saturday 18 October the Diocese of Leicester hosted its first ever Black History Month concert, ‘The Sound of Power and Pride’, at HTL Church Leicester. Over 250 attendees were greeted with ambient tones of The Halls String Quartet.
In September, a diverse team made up of ordained, licensed, and lay members from the Diocese of Leicester, embarked on the first intercultural and intergenerational visit to our link dioceses in Tanzania - a journey that proved to be both formative and deeply moving.
During the spring and summer term this year, the theme chosen by young people was Safeguarding, with the listening campaign created in partnership with our Diocesan Safeguarding Team.
In February 2025, General Synod voted to strengthen the role of young adults in shaping the Church’s future, passing a motion to embed their voices more systematically in national decision-making.
In a celebration of cultural diversity and inspirational people from all times and all places, the church of All Saints with Holy Trinity in Loughborough came alive with the sights, sounds, and spices of its intercultural community last weekend.
The Bishops' Children and Youth Council have launched their latest listening exercise on the theme of Safeguarding. The goal of this term’s exercise is to help find out what makes children and young people feel safe in church.
A community gathering to exchange thoughts and feelings and explore how Leicester can continue to grow as an ‘intercultural city’ was hosted by Leicester Cathedral on Monday (3 March).
