We recently held a service in celebration of the vital ministry of chaplains who serve faithfully across our hospitals, schools, prisons, universities, and many other community spaces. The Diocese of Leicester and Leicester Cathedral came together to recognise the ongoing commitment of current chaplains, who play an important role at the heart of our communities.
To highlight this vocation, we invite you into Revd James Pickersgill’s world as Bishop’s Chaplain and loving servant to the diocese.
James’ work is very much embedded in the episcopal heart of the diocese, supporting with matters, sensitive and otherwise, from the safeguarding of the local parish to the liturgy of the church and Cathedral. At home in Bishop’s Lodge, his visible special powers are his hospitality, having cared for people as part of his previous role within this industry.
James narrates how he serves Bishops Martyn and Saju - prayerfully, pastorally, and organisationally - with hospitality, care and support.
We ask you to pray for all those serving as chaplains throughout the diocese, so they are able to continue and grow in their roles.
