Cathedral Choir sing at the world's oldest choral festival

Leicester Cathedral Choir sang in the world's oldest choral festival, held in St Paul’s Cathedral on 9 May.

This year the Clergy Support Trust Festival was held for the 368th time. Free and open to everyone, it brings together three of the UK’s finest cathedral choirs, which this year included the choir from our Cathedral alongside that from Llandaff Cathedral and St Paul’s.

Leicester's Choir, accompanied by Revd Canon Emma Davies, Canon Precentor, and two of our Cathedral Vergers, travelled to London for the day to take part in both rehearsals and the service. The Festival is a unique and extraordinary event, celebrating the work of the Trust and the clergy families they serve, with their generous supporters.

The Service includes a majestic procession of the choirs, cathedral clergy, Masters of City Livery companies, Stewards of the Festival and other dignitaries down the central aisle of St Paul’s.
