The Bishop is pleased to announce the appointment of The Revd Ole Bertin Hermo, Curate at St Paul and the Church of the Good Shepherd, Hounslow West in the Diocese of London, as Vicar of The Church of the Martyrs.

The Bishop is pleased to announce the appointment of The Revd Carol Lacey, previously Vicar in the Benefice of Christ Church, Brampton Bierlow in the Diocese of Sheffield, as Spiritual Care Chaplain at Leicestershire Organisation for the Relief of Suffering (LOROS).


The Revd David Hebblewhite

The Bishop announces that The Revd David Hebblewhite, Rector of the Four Saints Benefice will be retiring with effect from 30 June 2019.


The Revd Jane Wood

The Bishop announces that The Revd Jane Wood, Spiritual Care Chaplain at Leicestershire Organisation for the Relief of Suffering (LOROS) retired on 28 February 2019.


Spiritual Directors for Leicester Anglican Cursillo

The Bishop has appointed three clergy to share the role of Spiritual Director for Leicester Anglican Cursillo – The Revds Ed Bampton, Alison Iliffe and Jane Wood.


Mr Andy Smith – Warden of Readers

Bishop Martyn is delighted to announce the Mr Andy Smith has agreed to take on the role of Warden of Readers, initially for a period of 18 months.


Diocesan Registrar

The current Diocesan Registrar and Legal Advisor, Trevor Kirkman, will be steeping down from the role at the end of March. Trevor's successor, Lee Coley, will be licensed by Bishop Martyn during the service on the morning of Monday 8 April.


The Revd Helen Hayes

The Bishop announces that The Revd Helen Hayes is resigning from her role as Non-Stipendiary Pioneer Priest in the West Leicester Mission Partnership, with effect from Sunday 31st March 2019.


David Cooper appointed as Independent Chair of Diocesan Safeguarding Oversight G

A new Independent Chair of the Diocesan Safeguarding Oversight Group has been announced. David Cooper will bring a wealth of knowledge to the role as an experienced senior manager with an extensive background in local authority, Health and Voluntary sectors.


The Revd Mark Battison and The Revd Hilary Surridge

The Bishop announces the return of the Revd Mark Battison, Priest in Charge of the Benefice of The Abbey, Leicester, from long term sick leave on Saturday 2 March 2019. With Mark's return the role of The Revd Hilary Surridge as Associate Priest at St Margaret's in The Abbey benefice, providing sickness absence cover, will end on the same date.
