It is with sadness that we announce the death of The Revd Haydn Clifford Williams, aged 93, on Monday 11 August 2025.
Further to the announcement dated 8th August advising that The Revd Steve O’Rourke has been appointed as Vicar in the Broom Leys Benefice we can now confirm that Steve will be licensed by the Bishop of Loughborough, The Rt Revd Saju Muthalaly, on Sunday 5 October 2025 at 4pm at St David’s Broom Leys. All are welcome to attend.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of The Revd Sharon Andrews, Associate Priest in the Benefice of Leicester St Anne, St Paul and St Augustine, also as Chaplain of Wyggestons and Trinity Almshouses. Sharon will be licensed at the Annual Founders Day on Thursday 25 September 2025 at 2.30pm.

With grateful thanks for his ministry and prayers of blessing for the future, we announce that The Revd David Lewis, Curate in the Oadby Great Glen Team Ministry benefice, has been appointed as Priest in Charge in the benefice of Norwell with Ossington, Cromwell, Caunton and Sutton with Carlton-on-Trent, in the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham.
We are very pleased to announce the appointment of The Revd Richard Trethewey, currently Rector in the Benefice of Glenfield and Newtown Linford, as Archdeacon of Leicester.
It is with sadness that we announce the death of The Revd Jane Sharp, who passed away on Friday 18 July 2025, aged 70. From 2008, Jane faithfully served as an Associate Minister at St James the Greater and from 2014, she also served as Chaplain at Leicester Community College.
Further to the announcement that The Venerable Richard Worsfold has been appointed as Area Dean of Salford and Leigh in the Diocese of Manchester we can now confirm that Richard will be licensed in the Bishop of Manchester’s chapel on Tuesday 23 September, with a formal welcome service in the Deanery to be announced in due course.
