Sustainable Travel Toolkit Workshop
6th November 2021
10am-11.30am online

Following the recent release of a sustainable travel toolkit providing practical ideas and suggested actions for parishes in encouraging more sustainable travel choices, we can now provide further details of the second online workshop being run by Go Travel Solutions to help explore use of this and other resources. This will take place on Saturday 6th November 10am-11.30am. The online workshop, which is free, will be led by Cliff Jones and Robin Pointon of Go Travel Solutions, a social enterprise based in Leicester that specialises in sustainable transport.

To register for this workshop please click the link below and you will be taken to an Eventbrite webpage where you can register and you will then be sent a Zoom link for the workshop.

As a Diocese we are currently seeking to become an Eco Diocese, alongside encouraging our Parish Churches and Fresh Expressions to become Eco Churches. We are also seeking to reflect the commitment made by the Church of England General Synod towards achieving Carbon net zero status by 2030. Travel and transport account for over 20% of our carbon emissions in the UK.
What can we do as individuals and as church communities to help reduce the carbon impact of our travel? Join in this workshop to find out more! This workshop will be provide a range of practical ideas on what we can do to travel more sustainably including walking, cycling, public transport and use of cars (including electric vehicles).

This is the second sustainable travel workshop that has taken place. Here is some feedback from participants of the first workshop:
“I signed up for this as I knew nothing much about the subject. Go Travel Solutions answered every question that came up really well (they have vast knowledge of the subject), gave a great presentation and links to useful websites and by the end I had learnt a huge amount. How he crammed it all in I don’t know, but every sort of travel was covered.”
Stephanie Snart

“It was helpful and informative, helping me to consider the journeys I make and how I might travel differently. They provided masses of information about options and where to find out more. The workshop is good for individuals as well as churches planning.”
