It is with sadness that we announce the death of The Revd Fr David Osborne, aged 87, on Sunday 12 March 2023. David was ordained in the diocese of Southwark in 1963,serving as Curate there until 1966, finishing his curacy in the diocese of Wakefield in 1967. David then served as Rector of All Saints Ancoats from 1967 until 1973 and then as Vicar of Holy Angels Claremont until 1980, both in the diocese of Manchester, before moving to the diocese of Leicester serving as Rector in the Benefice of Breedon-on-the-Hill from 1980 until 1987. He later served as Vicar at Christ the King Beaumont Leys from 1987 until 1992, and then at St John the Baptist Billesdon and Skeffington, until he retired in 2001. David held the Bishop’s Permission to Officiate in this diocese from 2002 until 2017 and in Peterborough diocese from 2002 until the present day. He leaves beloved wife Pat, and three sons. David’s funeral is to be held at All Saints Church Wilbarston at 10am on Friday 31 March 2023, to which all are welcome.
