With sadness, the Bishop announces the death of The Revd Norene Layton, aged 83. Norene became a Deaconess in the Diocese of Chichester in 1986 after studying at Trinity College, Bristol, before then being ordained as a Deacon in Chichester in 1987. Norene was Priested in Leicester in 1994, taking up a Curacy at Emmanuel Loughborough. In 1996, Norene became Vicar of Christ Church, Hengrove in the Diocese of Bristol where she served for 8 years until her retirement in 2004. Norene held the Bishop’s Permission to Officiate in this diocese from 2014 until 2018.
