The Revd Jane Sharp

It is with sadness that we announce the death of The Revd Jane Sharp, who passed away on Friday 18 July 2025, aged 70. From 2008, Jane faithfully served as an Associate Minister at St James the Greater and from 2014, she also served as Chaplain at Leicester Community College.


The Venerable Richard Worsfold

Further to the announcement that The Venerable Richard Worsfold has been appointed as Area Dean of Salford and Leigh in the Diocese of Manchester we can now confirm that Richard will be licensed in the Bishop of Manchester’s chapel on Tuesday 23 September, with a formal welcome service in the Deanery to be announced in due course.

We are pleased to announce that The Revd Phil Bryson, Vicar at St Dionysius, Market Harborough, has taken on the role of Diocesan Disability Advisor.

With grateful thanks for his ministry and prayers of blessing for the future, we announce that The Revd Chris Webb, Deputy Warden at Launde Abbey, has been appointed as Priest in Charge of St Cuthbert’s, Blyth in the Diocese of Newcastle.


The Revd Fiona Cotton-Betteridge

With grateful thanks for her ministry and prayers of blessing for the future, we announce that The Revd Fiona Cotton-Betteridge, Associate Priest in the Barrow-upon-Soar with Walton le Wolds, Wymeswold and Prestwold with Hoton benefice, will be retiring on Sunday 28 September 2025.


The Revd Ed Down

Further to the announcement dated Friday 20 June advising that The Revd Ed Down has been appointed as Minister at Hope Church, Chesham in the Diocese of Oxford, we can now confirm that Ed’s final Sunday at Hope Hamilton will be Sunday 24 August 2025.

The Bishop is pleased to announce that The Revd Tony Leighton will be licensed as Leader of the SoundCafe Leicester (BMO) on Monday 30 June during a SoundCafe session at St Mary de Castro.

With grateful thanks for his ministry and prayers of blessing for the future, we announce that The Revd Ed Down, Minister for the Conventional District of Hamilton, Leicester, has been appointed as the Minister for Hope Church, Chesham, in the Diocese of Oxford.


Dr Glennys Kerr

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Dr Glennys Scott Kerr, who died on Thursday 29 May 2025, aged 90. From 1981 to 2020 Glennys faithfully served as a Lay Minister at St Laurence Church, Measham. For much of her adult life she was an active Mother's Union member, speaker and representative.
