Keeping people safe in the Diocese of Leicester
We are seeking an Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Officer (Asst DSO) to support safeguarding provision in the Diocese through expertise, advice, guidance, and assessment and management of risk.
Working as a valued member of a busy team, the Asst DSO will have responsibility for a portfolio of casework and will contribute to the work of supporting local leaders in ensuring that church settings are places where people feel and are safe.
This is an opportunity for a suitably experienced professional with extensive safeguarding experience in social work (children or adult services), probation, police, education or health care. Alongside experience of managing a caseload, managing and assessing risk, and the ability to prioritise and be flexible, you will also bring strong communication skills, the ability to sensitively build relationships with a wide range of people, and resilience in a challenging environment.
