The Diocese of Leicester has five strategic priorities. Intergenerational communities aim to bring together ALL generations to grow in depth of discipleship and loving service of the world. Strategic implementation has three key areas of work:
Growing Faith
Growing Faith is the movement that exists to put children, young people and families instinctively at the heart of all the mission and ministry of the Church by changing the culture of the Church of England.
A Growing Faith Minister is a core role within a Minster Community. They will be an experienced lay or ordained leader, who will promote an approach to working with children and young people, across a Minster Community.
This approach provides a ‘trellis’ to support the growth of fruitful children and youth ministry across a Minster Community by exemplifying (in the lead parish / benefice) and enabling other parishes to…
- Train and support clergy, paid workers & volunteers
- Recognise and release young leadership in school and church
- Embed discipleship pathways for children and young people
- Listen and respond to young voices
- Learn through monitoring and evaluation
- Intercede with and for children, young people, families and schools
- Safeguarding to promote wellbeing and prevent harm
