Study Day for Clergy and Lay Ministers
30th October 2021
9.30 – 3.30 (approx.).

The aim of these events is
1. To provide an update of the SBGT process so far, the outcome of the October synod, and the Diocesan Framework.
2. To provide an outline of next steps, and an indicative timeline.
3. To hold the process in prayer and theological reflection.

Within these broad aims we will be paying attention to ourselves, our vocations and our wellbeing, as well as reflecting on what the future may hold for us and the people we minister amongst. These events are not decision making forums, nor a formal consultation, but a space to be attentive to God’s leading amongst us.

With Covid restrictions still uncertain, we are running these as hybrid events. There will be space to meet physically and virtually, and we will endeavour to provide video recordings for those unable to attend on either day. You will need to book in for these events by Wednesday 20th October by emailing For those wishing to attend in person please let us know of any special dietary requirements when booking please.

Obviously you are welcome to choose which day, and indeed, method by which you attend. Our ministry categories are broad and cover a lot of nuance and individual roles – but as numbers in St Martins House will be limited we would ask PTO ministers to attend by Zoom if possible. However if you are PTO and would prefer to attend in person, please say so on your reply and we will do our best, given all the constraints we are working within.

Further details will be available nearer the time, but in the meantime please continue to hold the SBGT process for the diocese and particularly Bishops Council and Synod in your prayers as they meet in the coming weeks.
