Bishops' Easter Message and Services

Bishop of Leicester, Rt Revd Martyn Snow and Bishop of Loughborough, Rt Revd Saju Muthalaly share their Easter message for 2022.

This video is free to use for all of our worshipping communities in their services both online and in person. 

The Bishops will be busy at various services across Easter weekend:

Good Friday: The Bishop of Leicester, will be with a few of the young residents of our new monastic community (the Community of the Tree of Life) handing out free hot cross buns, palm crosses and a leaflet about the message of Easter to passersby in Jubilee Square, Leicester 10:30am – 12 noon.

Leicester Cathedral’s Good Friday Reflection 1-2pm with the Bishop of Loughborough, and 2–3pm with the Dean of Leicester, both at:      St Nicholas Church, St Nicholas Circle, Leicester city centre (whilst the Cathedral building is closed for the Leicester Cathedral Revealed project).

Holy Saturday: Easter Vigil from 8pm with the Bishop of Loughborough, followed by fireworks and fizz. Venue: St Nicholas Church.

Easter Sunday: The Bishop of Loughborough will preach at the main Cathedral Easter Day service in the Great Hall at St Martins House, Peacock Lane. As our diocese is predominantly rural, the Bishop of Leicester will preach at rural parish churches in Skeffington and Billesdon on Easter morning (services starting at 9am and 11am respectively).
