Shaped by God is a key strategy for the work of the diocese of Leicester over the next 5 years, approved by Diocesan Synod in July 2005. It sets the Mission of God firmly at the heart of the church, and encourages us to look for creative partnerships which can help us be yet more effective in sharing God’s love with the world.
Two key elements are the ‘Nine marks of a healthy, mission-shaped church’ and the proposal to form Mission Partnerships with others.
From these page you can download and read the Report, either in full or in summary form. You can look at the ‘Nine Marks’ and you can link to a Toolbox of resources which will help you explore them further. As it develops you will also find further advice and suggestions on how best to work in Mission Partnership.
You can also use it to link into thinking about Fresh Expressions of church, both nationally and locally, and it is part of my job to help us all as we develop our thinking about how we reach out to those for whom 'church' and 'god' can seem equally distant, or unrelated.
