THEOLOGICAL REFLECTION; focus on sabbaticals

This is an opportunity for those planning a sabbatical and for those who have recently completed a sabbatical to reflect together on the potential ‘fruits’ of this kind of study leave. There will be some short presentations from clergy in the diocese who took sabbaticals in 2009 as well as plenty of time to share information and answer questions around issues of funding, structure and renewal. KNOWING ME, KNOWING YOU......

This widely used tool explores how you prefer to work and communicate. It provides a way to think through your gifts, motivations and strengths along with potential areas for growth. It will help you appreciate people who differ from you and improve how you work with others. Before the first evening you will be asked to complete a questionnaire and then the outcome will be explored over the 2 evenings with some time in between to reflect on what you have discovered.

Open to those who have already some knowledge of Myers Briggs and those who have not. You will need to be able to attend both evenings to participate. Places are limited so please book early, contact Claire Stapleton.

THEOLOGICAL RESEARCH GROUP

Papers: Tim Ward and Michael Rusk will present papers on their areas of research. Both have been involved in publishing material and, as well as the content of their papers, we will spend some time considering the lessons learnt from becoming a published author.

Reflection: We will also spend time reflecting on a recent talk by Rob Bell, (given at Greenbelt 2009). This will be made available as an MP3 beforehand.

TRAINING THE SINGING VOICE

The Cathedral Precentor, Stephen Foster, will lead an event to develop the voice for leading Choral services. Set within the context of a Sung Evensong, this evening will focus on improving singing skills.
