St Dionysius held 3 special services for Climate Sunday on 12 September
A church community on the western side of Leicester is making great progress in the challenge to safeguard God's creation and address the issue of climate change – in faith, practice and mission.
Handmade eco bunting was presented to the Bishop of Leicester by a group of our worshipping communities keen to encourage Church leadership and all of us to help tackle the climate crisis.
New resources for the Diocese of Leicester
The Gaia installation will be on display in the Cathedral from 17 May- 6 June and aims inspire awe, wonder and humility and to invite us to ask ourselves why God has given us this beautiful environment, as well as to spark conversations about climate change.
Sue is a keen walker and lifelong lover of nature. She worships in the Ironstone benefice – a rural group of churches near Melton – and was called by God to create a thriving woodland near her home as a legacy for the planet
On Saturday 5 September young people from around Leicester and Leicestershire coordinated a Christian Climate Conference open to people from any faith background on Zoom. Slides from the event can be found here along with a resource bank that has been put together by the team behind the event. It includes worship resources, recommended podcasts, books, films and online content. This resource bank links to many of the themes and workshop topics explored on the day but it is hoped it will be used widely by all in the diocese.
