Olympic Torch Relay rehearsal in Leicester
last updated on: 22nd Feb 2012
In exciting news, it has been announced that the single dress rehearsal for the torch relay will be in Leicester on 20th April. This is a great honour and a fabulous reminder of the importance of churches on the route being involved. It will travel from Leicester to Quorn, Loughborough, Hoton, Wymeswold, Asfordby and Melton. The torch relay is a huge opportunity for churches to “use the power of the Games to inspire change” (official 2012 vision). As part of the ongoing work of the nine main Christian denominations, a taskgroup has been formed to meet this wonderful opportunity, but it needs people to be apart of it! The opportunities are immense. There are lots of resources available, but what is right. We need you (yes you!) to join a small group to consider this.
