Former Rector Consecrated as Bishop of Doncaster

The Venerable Peter Burrows, Archdeacon of Leeds was today Consecrated Bishop of Doncaster by The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Doctor John Sentamu, Lord Archbishop of York, Primate of England and Metropolitan in The Cathedral and Metropolitan Church of St Peter in York.
Peter Burrows was Rector of Broughton Astley, Rural Dean of Guthlaxton, Diocesan Director of Ordinands, Warden of Readers, Parish Development Officer and lastly Director of Ministry in the Diocese of Leicester, he was also an inspector of Theological Colleges, Chair of the Vocations and Ministry Committee, and member of General Synod before his appointment as Archdeacon of Leeds in 2005.
In other news, another former Leicester clergyman, the Venerable Dr Michael Ipgrave OBE has been appointed the 12th Bishop of Woolwich.
