A farewell message from the Dean
last updated on: 3rd Dec 2012
I was so grateful for the good wishes and gifts which were showered on me at my leaving. You were very kind, and the stories of what God has done in the cathedral over the last decade were heartwarming. I have left part of my heart in Leicestershire. Your generosity enabled me to invest in a new desk )the first since I was a Deaconess!) which sits by the widow looking out onto the north transept of the Minster. Thank you for providing such a lovely place where I can sit and write (and sometimes just sit!)
Some of you will have made the journey through flood and frost to York this weekend to see me over this threshold. Others will visit, I hope, in the coming months. York is a glorious place, but The Diocese of Leicester will continue to be much in my thoughts and prayers as it continues to grow in the the hope and grace of Christ.
With fond good wishes
