City Mayor backs Cathedral Square
26th Jul 2011 - Sir Peter Soulsby, City Mayor, has stated his strong support for the Diocese of Leicester’s plans to create a new Cathedral Square as the next step in creating a new public space, following the official opening of St Martins House last month. His statement, released today, begins “I strongly support the aim to create a new Cathedral Square for Leicester, and have committed the City Council to doing all it can to help bring it about.” Continue Reading

Charity Car Wash buys Malaria nets
21st Jul 2011 - Up 40 young people spent Wednesday at St Martins House washing cars for charity - and raised over £300. The event was organised by the Inter-Faith Youth Hub, as part of a week of community engagement by young people of all faiths for the city. They descended on St Martins house and washed cars for £5 donation. The money raised will buy mosquito nets for families in Ghana - each net will protect a family of 6 from malaria. Continue Reading

Bridge project feeds the homeless
20th Jun 2011 - Hot on the heels of the St Martins House grand opening event came another Barbeque – this time for Leicester’s homeless community. Organised by The Bridge project, who work every week with this group, the annual event brought a smile to many faces , and a glow to many stomachs.
