Exploring, discussing and debating issues of contemporary interest at home and abroad from a Christian perspective
The Leicestershire Far and Near Club is a membership based organisation, established in 1927 by the first Bishop of Leicester, Bishop Cyril Bardsley.
Membership is open to lay men and women from the City and County of Leicester or associated with the Diocese of Leicester. The club is open to members of all Christian denominations.
We currently meet three times a year to explore, discuss and debate issues of contemporary interest at home and abroad from a Christian perspective.
- An Autumn Weekend Conference in Buxton, Derbyshire with important speakers from public life
- An Open Lecture in the Spring followed by an Annual Dinner
- A Summer Evening Event at a member’s home
Members are able to invite personal guests to meetings and the Away Weekend. Apart from the Open Lecture, proceedings are strictly private and no reports are kept or issued - a fact which enables speakers to talk with complete freedom.
If you would like to know more about the club, or would like to be considered for membership, please contact the Secretary, Rupert Harrison, 2 High Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire LE11 2PY. Telephone 01509 243720. or email rupert.harrison@andrewgranger.co.uk
