YP4L

For many years high quality youth work has been taking place in our diocese, four years ago the diocese recognised this by creating the support network Young People for Life (YP4L). Though YP4L we have been able to develop and support this youth work even further. YP4L specialises in supporting youth workers based in churches, Mission Partnerships and deaneries where there is a recognised need, and strives to meet that need.
Over the past four years, as a diocese, we have been able to develop in new and exciting ways working with young people who are based in or with the church and more recently taking those expertises onto the streets to demonstrate Gods love in a very practical way.
One of the values upon which YP4L is based is ensuring that the voices of young people can be heard. To this end we have developed a facebook page, which not only gives information about interesting events and activities but enables anyone to voice their option and have their voice heard.

YP4L supports all kinds of youth work; firstly there is the Bishops Youth Council, which is where young people are given every opportunity to take part in the day to day running of the diocese. As can be guessed by the name this is sponsored and fully supported by both Bishop Tim and Bishop Christopher.
Along with recognising the importance of the young people contributing directly YP4L run a holistic training course calling the Bishops Certificate in Youth Ministry aimed at people of any and every denomination who have a desire to or are working with young people.
Finally, YP4L has a small advisory team made up of experts who meet once every 8 weeks and are happy to support any work that is going on in the diocese.
