The Church in the Diocese of Mount Kilimanjaro (DMK) continues to grow and inspire! The following is a summary of a recent visit.
After a four year gap, due to the pandemic, it was good to be back in Tanzania. The main purpose of the visit was to continue deepening relationships across the Diocesan link, build faith and to see how DMK are making Disciples of Jesus Christ through their bold church planting vision.
The team comprised Revd Michael Broadley (Chair of the Link Committee), Revd Ben Gardner, Claire Rowles and Paul Oxbrough from St Barnabas Grange Park church (STB), Catriona Broadley and Martyn Riddleston from Emmanuel Loughborough, as well as Mike and Katherine Owtram.
It was a brilliant team to work with and it is safe to say that everyone returned, envisioned, inspired and humbled from the visit to DMK.
Overall they visited around 18 church plants of various different ages as well as sizes of congregations in Loliondo, Toloha and the Babati Deanery. Between the team they also visited four schools and a prospective dispensary. They travelled vast distances across DMK in the capable hands of drivers Pascal and Charles. Michael and Ben also had the privilege of baptising around 50 people, of different ages.
