Encouraging Children's Ministry in the Diocese of Leicester

Children’s Ministry

A warm welcome from me, John Fryer, the new Children's Work Advisor.
We are here to help you with your work among children, recognizing the vital importance of this ministry. Jesus said in Luke 18: 15 The Kingdom of Heaven belongs to SUCH AS THESE... That is our new theme for children's work in the Diocese. The Message version has it that Jesus said of children ...these are the Kingdoms Pride and Joy... As one of the seven marks of mission, working with children is vital! See our new logo (right) This will be increasingly used over the coming months so look out for it on publications and headings and posters wherever we are involved in children's ministry in the Diocese!

This website area is part of that support and we encourage you to browse the subsections to this part of the website for further information. This area is undergoing considerable development at the present time and we suggest you to re-visit in the near future to view additional material.

Our aims are to:
1. Support, encourage and advise the parishes and mission partnerships of the diocese
2. Provide information about a variety of resources, events and materials (see further  down this page for resources).
3. Keep you informed about the latest good practice guidelines, safeguarding children and current legislation
4. Offer a range of opportunities for training and development in children’s work
5. Provide avenues for children to be involved in the whole life of the Church

If you have particular training needs, good tips for resources or simply want to reflect on your work, do get in touch at:
