to either the church and/or the churchyard - but NOT trees. For information on works to trees, please see the Trees in Churchyards page of the DAC section of this website.
The Chancellor of the Diocese has agreed a list of Minor Works that may be undertaken without applying for a faculty.
The List details those works for which no faculty is required and: -
EITHER
a) No prior consultation is required with either the DAC or Archdeacon
OR
b) Prior consultation is required with the DAC or the Archdeacon using a simple Minor Works Form which can be quickly processed
N.B. Any proposed works, however large or small, not specifically identified on the List REQUIRES A FACULTY.
The List also sets out, in Note A, the documents that need to be submitted with the application for authorisation.
PCCs and/or architects should consult the DAC Office (t: 024 7652 1312) for advice on whether proposed works are permissible under the Minor Works List.
The appliction form (in Word or pdf format) should be completed and submitted to the DAC Office as quickly as possible.
Where the List requires the DAC to approve the specification, applicants should be aware of the advice that the DAC provides about the detail required in that specification.
N.B. Some applications for the authorisation of Minor Works need to be considered at a meeting of the DAC
