Google Street view is now moving inside churches and heritage buildings! Leicester Cathedral is one of the very first to receive the virtual visit treatment, thanks to local photographer Chris Jones who has been trained and licensed by Google to take the pictures needed. They are then linked to Google maps so you can walk from the road towards, inside and around the Cathedral as if you were actually there.
St Mary de Castro , Bottesford and Lutterworth have also been filmed. It's a fabulous way to publicise your church and to show those who are nervous about coming over the threshold what it looks like inside. The films can be embedded into your church website as well is being found via Google, so if you are interested in having your church filmed and on Google in this way please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
