The School for Ministry co-ordinates the training and development opportunities that are available within the diocese. On these pages you will find information about Lay training, and Clergy ministerial development.
There are many opportunities for exploring our faith, for discovering our place in the Church. We will develop the range of courses we offer, and respond, wherever possible to requests for training and development from within the Diocese.
Lay Training opportunities include
Discovery
A course designed for Non-Book learners to explore their faith and gain life-skills.
Certificate in Christian Discipleship
This course is open to anyone who would like to grow in confidence in their Christian faith and discipleship. This is a regional ecumenical course that acts as a foundation for future training within the Diocese of Leicester.
We train lay ministers to work in areas of:
- Evangelism
- Pastoral Care
- Reader Ministry
- Interfaith Engagement
- Spiritual Direction
- Youth and Children
- Fresh Expressions
Clergy Ministerial development includes
- IME 4-7
- Clergy Professional Development (CME)
- Diocesan Leadership Programme
