Information for visitors - Changes to Vehicle Access to St Martins House
Now that work has commenced on Cathedral Gardens there are changes to the access arrangements for St Martins House. Parking within the grounds is restricted to blue badge holders and short-term drop-off only and must be pre-arranged with Reception on 0116 261 5200.
You are recommended to use public transport or use the public car parks such as Southgates and NCP St Nicholas Circle.
There will be no parking on Peacock Lane from 25th November 2013. There will also be changes to the traffic system on surrounding streets from the same date. Peacock Lane will be one-way from New Street to Southgates and the New Street one way system will reverse and run south to north (Friar Lane to Peacock Lane). This means that the only route for vehicles towards St Martins House will be via Southgates, Friar Lane, New Street and Peacock Lane.
Additionally, there will be no access between Peacock Lane and Grey Friars along St Martins except for construction traffic.
Pedestrian access will be maintained along Peacock Lane and St Martins for the duration of the works.
The works are expected to be completed by May 2014, when some of these changes will become permanent.
